Anitra Rowe Schulte has worked as a writer for more than 15 years. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia's esteemed School of Journalism, Anitra started her career as a contributor to Wedding & Home magazine (London). She earned awards for feature writing while at the Kansas City Star and covered news as a reporter for Pioneer Press and the Sun Times News Group in Chicagoland. 

In the press office of Chicago Public Schools, Anitra developed press events and wrote speeches for top CPS leadership, including then-CEO and former U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. At PR boutique Henson Consulting, she led a wide spectrum of accounts, including Giordano's Pizza, Adler Planetarium and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. 

Anitra is a picture book writer, who completes professional writing projects through her consultancy Strategy.ink. She is administrator of Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome website wolfhirschhorn.org and facilitates Masterpiece Moms, a Chapelstreet Church support group for moms of children with special needs.

Anitra lives in suburban Chicago, Ill., with her husband and their three daughters.
